چکیده
The further characterization of toxin I from venom of the scorpion Centruroides sculpturatus Ewing (region, Southwestern United States) is reported. Toxin I is a single palypeptide chain of 64 amino acid residues crosslinked by four disulfide bridges. The complete amino acid sequence of toxin I was deduced from the sequence of its tryptic peptides and overlaps provided by its chymotryptic peptides. Toxin I has an amino terminal lysyl residue and a carboxyl terminal threonyl residue. The amino acid sequences of toxin I and neurotoxic variants 1, 2, and 3, likewise isolated from C. sculpturatus venom, differ at 26 positions. The sequences of toxin I from C. sculpturatus and toxins I and II from the North African scorpion, Androctonus australis Hector, are also compared.

The sequence-specific proton resonance assignments for the variant-1 (CsE-v1) neurotoxin from the venom of the New World scorpion Centruroides sculpturatus Ewing (range Southwestern United States) have been performed by 2D 1H NMR spectroscopy at 600 MHz. The stereospecific assignments for the beta-methylene protons of 19 non-proline residues have been determined. A number of short-, medium-, an...
متن کاملMolecular Characterization of a Three-disulfide Bridges Beta-like Neurotoxin from Androctonus crassicauda Scorpion Venom
Scorpion venom is the richest source of peptide toxins with high levels of specific interactions with different ion-channel membrane proteins. The present study involved the amplification and sequencing of a 310-bp cDNA fragment encoding a beta-like neurotoxin active on sodium ion-channel from the venom glands of scorpion Androctonus crassicauda belonging to the Buthidae family using r...

Molecular characterization of apolipoprotein A-I from the skin mucosa of Cyprinus carpio
Apolipoprotein A-I is the most abundant protein in Cyprinus carpio plasma that plays an important role in lipid transport and protection of the skin by means of its antimicrobial activity. A 527 bp cDNA fragment encoding C terminus part of apoA-I from the skin mucosa of common carp was isolated using RT-PCR. After GenBank database searching, a partial sequence containing a coding sequence (CDS)...
